History
Aviation Research Group Orkney & Shetland (A.R.G.O.S.) was formed in 2008 after Emily Turton, Ben Wade, the author David Earl and Kevin Heath conducted a search for Vickers Warwick BV417 in Scapa Flow.
The late Bobby Forbes, William Shearer and Magnus Ritch were also early members of the group.
Up until 2020 David Earl produced a quarterly booklet called '' The Argonaut'' which detailed air losses around Orkney and Shetland.
In 2020, due to Covid, A.R.G.O.S. became dormant but a chance meeting between Kevin Heath and archaeologist/author Lorraine Evans in 2025 led to the group becoming active again.
There are a few projects planned for 2026.
