Defiant DR937 771 Sqdn crashed on 08/04/1943 after hitting a barrage balloon cable in Scapa Flow. There is no mention of this incident in the balloon ORB.
Miles martinet MS629 771 Sqdn 23/10/1943
Miles Martinet MS629, 771 Squadron, piloted by Sub. Lt. D.F. Spackman, crashed into a field on South Walls. The aircraft was Cat: Y and was send away to the Miles factory to be repaired. The aircraft returned to 771 Sqdn but retired as an RAF aircraft in 1946.
